The Gala once again brought together the best of their sport in the packed Afundación Theater for two hours in which emotion, entertainment and a sense of humor were mixed.
Judith Rodríguez, who had already been nominated on multiple occasions as the best fencer, debuted her record as the best adapted sport athlete of the year 2022, when she was nominated by the FGDA (Galician Federation of Adapted Sports).
Since at that time she was winning a bronze medal in the Nimes-France World Cup, it was her sister Noega Rodríguez who received the award on her behalf from the mayor of Vigo Abel Caballero.

Last Friday, April 14, 2023, three groups of students, in different sessions, were lucky enough to participate in a Paralympic fencing "obradoiro" and learned about this sport up close from Judith Rodríguez.
In her interventions Judith emphasized the current situation of disability in Spanish society, commented extensively on the characteristics of the sport of fencing, narrated her life story and improvement, and finally the students and teachers of the CEIP Doutor Suárez de Fornelos were able to a mask and hold a weapon to practice fencing in his gym.
The interest aroused among the center's students was brutal, and they were attentive at all times to the talk that Judith gave. They continually interrupted the fencer's intervention to ask her a multitude of questions about all kinds of issues.
They were able to touch all the weapons and fencing accessories up close and even had in their hands the Gold medal won by Judith at the Sao Paulo World Cup.
Thanks to the attention received by the entire teaching and management team of the CEIP of Fornelos.

Last Friday we were extremely lucky to learn about a new sport from the fencer Judith Rodríguez.
Coinciding with Women's Day, during the week we have been learning about her professional career as a female athlete who does not give up in the face of adversity, and finally on Friday we were able to meet her.
We could tell many things about her: that she started practicing fencing when she was 8 years old, that she now competes in a wheelchair, that she has multiple medals in different championships (both at national and world level), that she is an example of overcoming and a model for women new generations... But above all this he is a magnificent person.
We loved getting to know her and seeing how close she is and the security she conveys.
